Pockets of Non-Conformity

One of the most remarkable aspects of the plague, and how it's been handled, is the extent to which every country has submitted to the will of a central organizing body. It's also clear that loyalty to this central organization goes deep. Just about every national institution has acted in compliance with the rules set from above. However, there have been some notable exceptions. Sweden held back on most measures for a long time, and the Institute of Public Health in Norway (FHI) keeps chiming in with independent thoughts.

FHI produces health related reports for the Norwegian government and general public. It advices on anything related to public health, and it's been a bit of a pain for the politicians in charge. FHI refuses to go along with the narrative, and they keep coming up with reasons why certain mandates are likely to do more harm than good. They've been critical to lockdowns and mask mandates, and they've been quick to sound the alarm on at least some vaccine brands.

The latest noise coming from FHI has been a prognosis related to the coming flu season. They have once again poked their fingers in the eyes of politicians. This time by predicting an unusually severe flu season due to reduced immunity in the population. Inactivity and lack of social interaction will result in many people becoming severely ill this winter. To back up their claims, FHI has pointed to the current flu season in Australia, which is on track to be more severe than usual.

It remains to be seen how bad things get in Australia. But if I'm right about how the flu will exploit the vaccine to its advantage, I suspect it will be severe. However, the full effect of the vaccine will not kick in before 2022 when the flu has fully adapted to its new environment, taking maximum advantage of a population that has been weakened and streamlined for contagion.
