One of the odd things that happened at the start of the plague was the dramatic drop in cases of pneumonia, heart disease and cancer as causes of death. Some saw this as evidence that the numbers were fudged. Others saw it as evidence that it got to the old and frail before they had chance to develop any other disease. However, the numbers are in for 2020, and there's been no additional deaths during that year relative to other years. In fact, there has been a drop in deaths, indicating that the lockdowns did in fact make a change to death rates. People who stay at home run lower risks of dying than people out and about.
The two takeaways from this are:
- The plague was not very severe
- The numbers related to pneumonia, heart disease and cancer were fudged
The second point derives from the first one. If the total number of deaths went down, the severity cannot have been all that bad, so it follows that the sudden drop in other diseases as causes of death has no other explanation than manipulation.
The numbers for 2021 are likely to be quite different from those gathered for 2020. The reason for this is that 2021 will represent a year where people have been vaccinated. The manipulation will therefore be different. Vaccinated people will be dying of things other than the plague. Only the unvaccinated will be penned up as dead from it. However, the really interesting numbers will not be the plague cases, but the total number of deaths and the numbers related to more traditional causes of deaths.
My guess is that 2021 will have total number of deaths above the average, and deaths from pneumonia, heart disease and cancer will be way up from 2020. With so many young people now suffering from rare blood clots, heart disease will be up by quite a lot. Cancer deaths may not be up all that much because such diseases tend to require a few years to develop before they kill their hosts.
However, pneumonia may turn out to be the real killer this year due to its ability to exploit weaknesses introduced into the vaccinated part of the population. There are also significant weaknesses introduced through extensive use of masks. Covering airways with pieces of cloth is not very good for our lungs. That should go without saying.
