One of the striking features of the hype surrounding the plague is the variety of ways that people react to it. Some smell a rat. Others don't. Some are indifferent and others passionate. This seems at first quite random. There's no connection to intelligence. There are smart people and simple minded people on both sides of the divide. But there's nevertheless a pattern to it. Attitudes are divided along political lines. Authoritarian leaning people tend to be positive to the way things are handled while liberty minded people are sceptical, and the more passionate people are about liberty vs. authority, the more passionate they are about the way the plague is being handled.
This proves that the plague is not merely a disease. It's a political tool that some people like and others don't, and some basic understanding of symbolism makes it clear why the division in attitude is the way it is. Mask mandates, lockdowns, vaccines and vaccine passports are all symbols of power. Some give orders. Others follow. Some are masters and others are slaves.
There's a great deal of symbolism in mask mandates and vaccination rituals. Masks dehumanizes the population by removing facial expressions from public view, and vaccines are occult initiation rituals in which the initiated have to perform useless and somewhat dangerous acts in order to be among the clean and worthy.
The vaccinated get a passport as a mark of obedience. They've been initiated, and can in turn band together and sing songs of joy and praise. Vaccination centres in Portugal are known to have a show at the end for the purpose of celebration. The initiation has the look and feel of something out of Brave New World. Blind obedience is rewarded with frivolous fun and games. Everybody's happy.
My Marxist brother in law was full of praise for the process. It warmed his heart to see so many people come together in this way. He wholeheartedly recommended the experience to me and my wife when he was last over for lunch. But we shudder at the thought. We're not slaves and we have no intention of becoming slaves.
Once the symbolism is fully understood, things become clear. However, most people are illiterate when it comes to this. Public schools teach us to ignore symbols and religious texts as mere mumbo jumbo. The net result is a blindness to some of the most powerful tools available to politicians.
On the other hand, the elite is obsessed with symbols and rituals. Narratives are constructed with multiple levels of meaning. The unsuspecting public is fed a continuous stream of images that add up to a window outside of which there can be no public debate. However, the elite is no more powerful than the Wizard of Oz. Once the smokes and mirrors have been properly identified, he's no longer able to operate his system. His power to deceive wanes as soon as the mechanism is laid bare.
My feeling is that we're nearing a point where the narrative unravels. I see people drop their masks. The word "Liberty" is starting to circulate. People are making the connection between Liberty and their masks. I see mask wearers look away in shame. While waiting on a green light this morning, one guy across the street went from wearing his mask under his chin to put it around his arm as I do. The Liberty meme appears to be spreading.
