This has been the coldest July I've experienced in the 15 years I've lived in Porto. The climate change I noted at the start of July has persisted. Apart from a few days of temperatures around 30C, we've been hovering a little above 20C all month, and there's been plenty of clouds. Today is August 1, and we barely reached 20C. It's raining as I write this. That's not in itself unheard of. However, the persistent nature of this cool weather is unusual. Porto is supposed to have a Mediterranean climate. But that hasn't been the case this summer, and our previous three summers have barely earned that title.
