I've just been out for a walk with my nine year old son. The percentage of openly disobedient people were noticeably lower for some reason, and the percentage of strict adherents to the mask wearing rules were up. I didn't think much of it. It's not like things move in straight lines. There will be times when tyranny gains a bit, and other times when liberty makes a move. This will take time. But then I saw a big placard posted next to the park that the police had circled so frequently yesterday. It informed the passers by that disobedience to plague related rules is a criminal offence, so there was a reason for the reversal in attitude after all.
It's a telling sign of our times that it's now a criminal offence to violate some random rule pulled out of some politician's behind, but completely normal and to be expected to be told tall stories with no root in reality by these same politicians, who then go ahead and ruin the lives of millions of people based on these fabricated stories. There's a non-stop barrage of propaganda on TV. They show grandma slowly dying, while hooked up to a ventilator. Kids are scared witless. People lose their livelihoods. But it's all okay and not criminal at all. What's criminal is to poke our noses out above our masks.
