Monkeypox in Portugal

Portugal is a small country. There's only 10 million people living here. Yet, it's the country in Europe with the most cases of Monkeypox, second only to Spain with a population of 47 million people.

There's currently 119 cases of Monkeypox in Portugal. That's about 10 cases per million. That's four times as many per million as in Spain.

With so few cases overall, it's impossible to conclude anything from these numbers. Portugal may simply have been unlucky. However, it's worth noting that Portugal is the most vaccinated country in Europe. If we see Monkeypox continuing to spread at an unusually high pace in this country, we'll have further evidence in support of our conspiracy theory that predicts the spread of unusual diseases among the vaccinated.
