About those Ventilators

I was recently made aware of the fact that ventilators mustn't be used to treat people suffering from flu symptoms. Ventilators were never used for this purpose, so it's an error to use them to treat Covid.

I was surprised to learn this, because ventilators featured so prominently in the news at the beginning of the plague. However, I assumed that this error had been remedied by now. I figured the ventilators were used primarily for propaganda purposes, and that they no longer are used now that the vaccine is out. But it appears that ventilators are still part of standard protocol.

This story about a couple who recently died of the virus highlights the fact that they were put on ventilators shortly before they died. Since this is a known error, we can only conclude that this was malpractice. It was murder or manslaughter. Either way it was a crime, because it's no more a defense to follow protocol when this is known to be harmful than it is to follow orders that are known to be unethical.
