Gravity Waves vs. "Gravity Waves"

I came across an article the other day in which gravity waves were used to determine the acoustic properties of the Sun. The term "gravity waves" threw me completely. Immediately, I started thinking about the fabled "gravity waves" of Einstein's relativity theory.

But the gravity waves talked about in the article had nothing to do with "gravity waves". Gravity waves is the proper term for the waves that we see on water and other surface liquids. Ripples in a pond are gravity waves. "Gravity waves" on the other hand, are as real as unicorns.

Reading too much science fiction is clearly not good for my ability to think clearly.
